A young 16 year old Sunil Datwani had only one passion. In his mind all he could see was the dazzle and brilliance of precious stones. He would arrange and rearrange these stones in his mind’s eye to form breathtaking designs, these would then enhance the beauty of the wearer, bringing out finer and detailed nuances with great attention to detail.
In 1986, against all odds, with the steadfast support of his father, Mr. Sunil Datwani established Gehna Jewellers with an opulent boutique in Bandra, becoming a first-generation entrepreneur to showcase an incredible collection of jewels that would soon become a landmark in the jewellery industry. Each challenge, and there were many, became a stepping stone to success.
His first endeavour was to bring together a motivated and like minded team. His focus was one- to create designs that were trendsetters. His goal was one- to win the trust of his clients. Almost four decades later, his story remains one of awe and inspiration.
